How Much Does a Moissanite Ring Cost in NZ?

By Ting Eguchi, founder of MiozukiUpdated 22 October 2026

I like to start with a budget that feels comfortable, then look at what each ring includes. In the examples gathered for this guide, silver and silver-alloy moissanite rings were advertised from NZ$119 to NZ$999.99. Selected solid-gold rings ranged from NZ$1,899 in 9k yellow gold to NZ$4,676 in 18k yellow gold. The price of your ring will depend on the design and options you choose.

That is a wide range of prices for rings that all have moissanite in their name. To make sense of it, I look beyond the centre stone to the metal, setting and support included with the piece. Understanding those details can make choosing feel a little less overwhelming.

As Miozuki’s founder, I wanted this guide to offer a wider view of the choices available to New Zealand buyers. It includes examples from Cullen, Diamond Stars, Miozuki, Nura Lab and NZ Jewellers. I approach each one with the same questions: what is it made from, which stones are included, and what does the price cover? The comparison draws on published details and selected product options; it does not include hands-on testing of the rings.

NZ moissanite prices at a glance

The prices below were checked on 22 October 2026 and are shown in NZD. They cover the ring as listed or selected, before any additional delivery or order-specific charges. Prices and available options can change, so open the linked product page and confirm the details for your own order.

I’ve separated silver from gold to make the material differences easier to follow. Within each table, the examples are arranged from lower to higher price, with the stone and metal shown alongside. This is a small sample of the market, intended to help you understand your options without ranking the stores.

Silver and silver-alloy examples

Diamond Stars: Classic Six Claws, M03C1-carat round moissanite; S925 sterling silver with white-gold electroplatingNZ$119 sale priceAdvertised on the product page; confirm the price and availability for your size
Miozuki: Classic Solitaire6.5 mm round moissanite; S925 sterling silverNZ$300Ring size 7 and sterling silver selected
NZ Jewellers: 1 Carat Continuum Silver Solitaire1-carat round moissanite; Continuum SilverNZ$999.99Listed on the product page, which identifies the ready-to-ship ring as size N½

The material is worth noting here. NZ Jewellers describes Continuum Silver as a silver–palladium alloy, while the other two examples use S925 sterling silver. These are different specifications, although the alloy alone does not explain the full difference in price.

Diamond Stars’ example is advertised at a sale price. As with every ring in the table, confirm the current price and availability for your size before ordering.

Selected solid-gold examples

Provider and ringSelected stone and metalChecked pricePrice details
Nura Lab: Vikki2ct moissanite option in 9k yellow goldNZ$1,899Price for the selected stone and metal; ring size was not selected
Miozuki: Classic Solitaire6.5 mm round moissanite; solid 9k yellow goldNZ$1,920Ring size 7 and 9k yellow gold selected
Cullen: LouiseMoissanite listed as 8.5 mm / 2.15ct, in 18k yellow goldNZ$4,676Moissanite and metal selected in the builder, with size left to choose later; check the gemstone selection when opening the page

For the gold examples, I’d consider the stone size and gold carat together. The selected Cullen ring uses 18k gold, while the other two use 9k gold. Their listed centre stones also differ, so the prices are more useful when read alongside those details.

The figures give you a starting point, rather than the lowest and highest prices available nationwide. They also do not establish an average or a complete range for platinum, 14k gold or bespoke work. For those choices, ask for a current quote based on the design you have in mind.

A closer look at the ring examples

Diamond Stars: Classic Six Claws

The Classic Six Claws combines a listed 1-carat round moissanite with S925 sterling silver. Alongside the advertised sale price, the product details and photographs give you a starting point for considering the design.

If it catches your eye, check the size you need, the delivered total and the return and aftercare terms. I would ask those questions of any provider, regardless of the price.

NZ Jewellers: Continuum Silver Solitaire

This solitaire pairs a listed 1-carat round moissanite with Continuum Silver. The page identifies the ready-to-ship ring as size N½, so it is worth discussing your own size with the jeweller.

You can also ask how to care for the alloy and which size-change and aftercare options apply. Those answers help you consider the material alongside the design and total cost.

Nura Lab: Vikki

The Vikki price in the table is for the selected 2ct moissanite option in 9k yellow gold. If you prefer another available combination, make that selection before comparing the price.

From there, confirm your size, the final total and the current support terms. I’d use the product page rather than rely on an older article or search preview, which may show a different price or selection.

Cullen: Louise

The Louise price is based on the builder’s 8.5 mm moissanite option in 18k yellow gold, with the ring size left to choose later.

When you open the design page, check the gemstone selector, as it can show a lab-grown diamond by default. Selecting moissanite lets you compare the same gemstone used in this guide.

Once you have chosen your options, confirm the final quote and the size-change and aftercare terms. Keep those details with the price while you decide.

Miozuki: Classic Solitaire

The Classic Solitaire appears in both tables, with size 7 selected in sterling silver and 9k yellow gold. Both options have the same listed 6.5 mm centre-stone dimension. As with the other examples, check the options on the product page and confirm the total and terms for your order.

If you prefer a more detailed band, check the smaller stones too. The Miozuki Pavé Solitaire, for example, has zirconia side stones in silver and moissanite side stones in gold. The stone specification therefore changes along with the metal, a detail worth checking on any stone-set design.

What changes the price of a moissanite ring?

The base metal and gold carat

I start with the full material description. A gold-coloured finish on sterling silver does not make the ring solid gold, and a silver–palladium alloy has a different composition again. If the wording leaves you unsure, ask about the base metal and any plating.

For solid gold, look at the stated carat as well as the colour. Two yellow-gold rings can look similar in photographs while using different gold alloys. A price difference between 9k and 18k gold therefore needs to be considered alongside the material difference.

The design and amount of metal also contribute to the finished price. Once you understand the material, you can look at how it fits into the piece as a whole.

The centre stone and any side stones

Next, I look for the gemstone name, shape and dimensions in millimetres, alongside the carat label. It also helps to check whether a weight description refers to the centre stone or to all the stones together. The same headline carat number can describe different arrangements.

Where a design offers both moissanite and lab-grown diamond, make sure the price belongs to your chosen gemstone. Current product options may differ from those shown in an older search result.

With pavé, halo and three-stone designs, read the smaller-stone details as well. A ring described as a moissanite ring may have a moissanite centre and accents made from another material.

Design, custom changes and support

A plain solitaire and a ring with several stone settings involve different design details. Custom changes can affect the price too, even when you begin with a standard style. If you have something particular in mind, ask for a quote that includes those changes.

I also leave room in the conversation for resizing, delivery and future maintenance. These can affect the overall cost, so read the terms for the provider and ring you are considering. If a warranty is included, check which work it covers and whether any conditions apply.

How I would compare two quotes

When two rings catch your eye, put their details side by side. I find that clear answers to a few practical questions make the decision easier to follow.

CheckWhat to ask
Currency and totalIs the price in NZD, and does the final total include tax and delivery to your address?
Selected optionDoes the price apply to your chosen size, metal and stone, or is it an advertised starting price?
MaterialWhat is the base metal? Is it plated? If it is gold, what carat is specified?
Centre stoneIs it moissanite? What shape and millimetre dimensions are listed?
Other stonesAre the smaller stones made from moissanite, zirconia, diamond or another material?
Size changesCan this exact design be resized, and what would that cost?
TimingIs it in stock or made to order? Does the stated timing include delivery?
SupportWhat do the current return and warranty terms cover for this order?

Photographs and videos are helpful for exploring the look of a ring. For gemstone grades and measurements, turn to the written specifications, and ask about fit and comfort if you are unsure. I would want those questions answered before placing an order.

If you are still deciding between shapes, settings and metals, the guide to choosing a moissanite ring explores those choices in more detail. The jewellery care guide provides further background, alongside the care instructions supplied for your chosen piece.

Choosing a budget that feels comfortable

For me, the starting point is an amount you can spend comfortably. Then think about what you would most enjoy wearing: a particular metal, a simple band, a favourite stone shape or a little more detail. Those preferences can help you narrow the choices without letting the price make the whole decision.

If you love a plain band, you can keep the focus there, even when another design offers more stones. If gold matters to you, take time to compare the alloy and setting. A higher total does not, on its own, tell you more about the moissanite.

If a ring is beyond your budget, it is reasonable to reconsider the material or design, or simply take more time. Its meaning does not depend on reaching a particular figure. I’d want you to feel comfortable with the choice as well as enjoy the ring itself.

If you plan to buy a wedding band as well, consider the combined budget before choosing the first piece. The engagement ring vs wedding ring guide explains their different roles and buying order if you are still deciding whether you want one ring or two.

Where to go next

If one of these rings has caught your eye, follow its link and take your time with the details. Confirm the current price for your chosen options, then read the specifications and order terms. You may find that a detail you had barely considered becomes an important part of your choice.

Each provider’s current collection and policies are the next place to look. For the Miozuki examples, you can find those details in our moissanite ring collection, ring size guide, shipping policy, returns terms and warranty cover. You are also welcome to send me an enquiry if your question concerns one of our rings.

For more background, you can return to the moissanite guide. My hope is that you feel clearer about what each price includes and more confident asking the questions that matter to you.

Common questions

How much should I budget for a moissanite ring in NZ?

In the examples checked on 22 October 2026, silver and silver-alloy rings were advertised from NZ$119 to NZ$999.99. Selected solid-gold rings ranged from NZ$1,899 in 9k yellow gold to NZ$4,676 in 18k yellow gold. This is a small sample of different rings, so use it as a starting point and confirm the price for your own chosen options.

Which moissanite providers does this price guide compare?

The guide includes dated examples from Cullen, Diamond Stars, Miozuki, Nura Lab and NZ Jewellers. I’ve brought them together to show different materials and price points, so you can explore the details that matter to you. The examples do not rank the stores.

Does a more expensive ring mean better moissanite?

A higher price does not, by itself, establish better moissanite. I look at the gemstone details separately from the metal, design and services, then ask which differences contribute to the total.

Can I compare silver and gold ring prices directly?

Yes, as long as you keep the different materials in mind. Put the metal, stone size and side-stone details beside each price so you can see what each choice includes.

Do these prices include everything I will pay?

The tables show product prices, so you will need to confirm the final NZD total with the provider. Before ordering, I would ask about delivery, tax, size changes and any custom work, then read the terms for that ring.
